Ijlal Amir | Film & Filmmakers Director

Ijlal Amir is the Film & Filmmakers Director for the Mosquers, responsible for establishing relationships with filmmakers nationally and internationally, managing incoming submissions and sourcing new submissions, curating a shortlist of films for the selection committee, and recruiting for the selection committee. He also oversees the selection of judges and management of judges experience, coordinates with the selection committee and judges for determination of event finalists and award winners, and manages the Incubator program to support local filmmaking talent/resources. Additionally, Ijlal develops networking opportunities for the film community. 

This is Ijlal's first year on the Mosquers board, and as a filmmaker himself, he has won the Best Local Picture award at the last two Mosquers. He is also overseeing the Mosquers' first-ever incubator program, where Muslim filmmakers in Alberta receive direct mentorship from Muslim professionals in the TV and film industry.
