The Mosquers Incubator Program is an exciting opportunity for emerging Muslim filmmakers in Alberta to develop their craft, share their unique perspectives, and contribute to narrative change in the screen industry.

The Incubator Program is designed to support aspiring filmmakers through mentorship, hands-on experience, and professional development - culminating in the creation of original short films that will be showcased at the Mosquers Film Festival.

What the Program Offers

  • Skill Development: Participate in workshops covering directing, scriptwriting, cinematography, editing, sound design, and more.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Filmmaking Passion & Skill: Demonstrated interest in storytelling 

  • Age: 18 years or older

  • Identify as Muslim: This program supports emerging Muslim filmmakers.

  • Alberta Residency: Applicants must reside in Alberta

  • Experience Level: No experience is required

  • Program Commitment: Full availability for workshops, mentorship, and production phases.

Key Dates (2026)

  • Mandatory Training Sessions: February 7, 2026 (in-person)

  • Program Duration: February–September 2026
    Participants must commit approximately 3–10 hours per week and additional hours during production.
