Land Acknowledgement

The Mosquers Film Festival has the great privilege to live, work, and create art in ᐊᒥᐢᑿᒌᐚᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ, amiskwacîwâskahikan (Beaver Hills House, colonially known as Edmonton), a traditional meeting ground, gathering place, and travelling route of the Nêhiyawak (Cree), Anishinaabe (Saulteaux), Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), Métis, Dene, and Nakota Sioux. We are bound to these communities through our common humanity and a trust (an Amanat) that we know as Treaty 6.

As artists and those who support and showcase them, we are especially aware of the privilege we have to be here and to have the opportunity to partake in treaty with our Indigenous siblings. It is a responsibility that we take seriously, one that shows up in our art and our daily lives.
